The Work

I document performances with the care of a collaborator, the precision of a craftsperson, and the curiosity of a lifelong mover—grounded in seven core values that ensure your work is seen, felt, and remembered.

For over a decade, I’ve specialized in filming dance with a two-camera setup — one wide shot to capture the full stage, and one tracking shot to follow the pulse of the movement. While some elements are consistent to guarantee quality, I tailor my approach to the unique story, energy, and visual language of every person or performance that I film.

The samples below are the videos I had quick access to from my archives, but I've filmed over 200 shows, events, interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and creative processes. I plan to keep adding to the archive below from years past, and uplifting the incredible artistry and passion of the people I've worked with along the way.

My process is shaped by the Show Your Work (Your Way) documentation method, and the seven values at the heart of Dances With Tech: Curiosity in Motion, Embodied Clarity, Reflexive Practice, Cultural Integrity, Creative Experimentation, Intersectional Belonging, and Reflective Alchemy. These values influence every decision behind the camera: how I frame a moment, what details I highlight, and how I ensure the recording honors both the performer and the performance.

Many of my clients return because I don’t just film their shows; I listen with my whole body, I meld into the space, and I preserve their creative legacy in a way that feels authentic to the experience we are in together. Every project becomes an archive ready for audiences, funders, educators, and future collaborators, capturing not only the choreography, but the emotion, story, and energy that make it unforgettable.

Dance & Theater

I've filmed the Phoenix-based BlakTinx Dance Festival since 2022, and it is an honor to continue to be their festival videographer. We've discovered that it works best for their needs if I film dress rehearsal so I can get a little closer to the action than if a live audience is there. I work with a second videographer to manage a wide shot on a tripod, and I film with a second camera on a gimbal, tripod, or handheld. I edit the two camera shoot, export individual videos of each piece for the dancers, and create an exciting sizzle reel after every show.

I started working with Sumana Sen Mandala, founder of Dansense-Nrtyabodha, in grad school. We made six short dance films together, and I have been filming and photographing her nonprofit dance company's shows for over five years. It has been a joy to learn and grow with Sumana and her dancers and musicians. I have filmed with the two camera wide and tracking set up, a single still camera, and everything in between. I've filmed dress rehearsals, performances, rehearsals at home, outside, dance films in parking garages, in parks, and more. I've worked with Dansense to edit dance films, promo videos, and performance documentation videos.

I began working with Angelica DeLashmette in 2022, assisting with social media content creation and video services. I've filmed Twilight Fringe Dance Festival ever since, and I love supporting Third Space's mission to serve the contemporary dance community with professional development, training, and performance opportunities. Twilight Fringe is a fun challenge to film (unique venues and audience viewing spaces). We've discovered that it requires a minimum of two cameras, two people (one per camera), and thoughtful coordinating of camera locations to capture the magic of their events. I also had the opportunity to take class while filming a Countertechnique workshop weekend and that documentation process was a blast!

Although I knew Liz as a professor at Arizona State University, I had the privilege of getting to know her work and legacy better while working as her social media specialist and videographer for almost a year.  There are many more interviews and reels you can find on her IG that we did together, but this five minute career legacy video was an editing feat I was really proud of. We created an outline from her archives and I listened to how she wanted to show up (in a video archive that was different than her work and creative legacy had been seen before). Several revisions later, this is what was shown at the Dance Magazine Awards in 2024.

Artists & Entrepreneurs

Dr. Ortiz-Barnett (or CeCe as everyone calls her) is an incredible theater maker and educator who reached out to me to document her MFA thesis research on imposter syndrome and belonging in theater spaces, and its impact on BIPOC students and faculty.  I filmed numerous interviews with CeCe and her students, actors, and thesis committee, as well as a major event and a class she taught. We whittled the hours of filming down to a three part thesis presentation video and seven short clips that highlight her work, research, and career goals for marketing.

L2E Physical Therapy

Dr. Jennifer Lee, or Jen as everyone calls her, is a physical therapist who offers services that go beyond traditional PT to support the nervous system and complex trauma and medical needs. After listening to her marketing needs, I crafted a script, video outline, and we filmed the whole thing over five hours. I also took headshots, behind-the-scenes footage, and redesigned her website. We edited the videos into these six clips for her website that introduced her to new clients, explained her services and answered frequently asked questions.

Promo Videos

Here is an assortment of promo videos for various folks I've worked with over the years. Each promo video is edited with the person or performance in mind, to offer you, the viewer, insight into the experience and importance of that moment in time.  I always offer at least 2 rounds of edits, and I make sure that the look, feel, and sound of the promo matches with the vision of the person/people I am working with.

There are so many more ways I can help make your work more visible.
